Acknowledging you need some help is a big step to therapy. Being honest with yourself is beneficial. Before booking your first session, Esther offers a 15 minute phone consultation free of charge. She will listen, answer questions and discuss her rates. Once you've booked your first session, Esther will send you an email enclosing New Client Forms to be thoroughly reviewed and executed upon your first session.
The first session may sound intimidating, however, have no fear. This session will give you the space to share what brings you into therapy, fill out a questionnaire, sign consent forms, discuss confidentiality, and understand the therapeutic process in general. During the initial intake, Esther is gathering all the information necessary in preparation for your Journey to Wellness Plan.
Esther gives you the opportunity to share where you last left off from the first session. The time-frame and duration of therapy is on a client basis. Some clients are in therapy for as little as two months wherein other clients are in therapy for a year at a given time. You may want to talk and "air out" what you have been experiencing. Esther gives you room to do so. The duration of therapy is dependent upon what you are ready to work on first. Between the second to third sessions, the treatment plan is finalized among your goals you wish to accomplish in therapy.
Your Journey to Wellness Plan is described as a modern day treatment plan. A treatment plan outlines your goals, objectives, and the duration to your therapy journey. Realistic goals are defined by what exactly you wish to accomplish, achieve and work towards. Whereas objectives are smaller goals broken down to allow you to meet your initial desired goal(s).
As time progresses and your goals are met, sessions are minimized from weekly to bi-weekly, or monthly until Esther and the client believe termination is necessary. This is your journey through in what you see fit.
