Daughter to Cuban American parents, born in Gainesville, Florida and raised in La Ciudad Que Progresa, Hialeah, Florida, is me, Esther! Hola! Mucho Gusto!
I am an honors graduate (3.91 GPA) from Trinity International University, where I earned a second Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology, May of 2019.
I have worked with at-risk children who have faced trauma, abuse/neglect, loss, self-esteem, and school bullying. With adults, eating disorders, childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, toxic relationships, life transitions, divorce and substance use recovery.
I absolutely love to learn about different cultures! In my early 20s, I traveled to Haiti, Cuba, El Salvador, Dominican Republic, & South Asia on mission trips. The settings included disaster-relief, tent villages, gang violence, orphanages, and sex-trafficking brothels. Language barrier was no obstacle, a wholesome conversation, with a translator, and listening ears truly goes a long way. Here, I developed an awareness of diversity, SES, and communication.
I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in the State of Florida working under the qualified supervision of Dr. Alison K. Davis, Ed.D., LMHC, NCC, BCPC.
Never learned to swim. Lover of the outdoors, simplicity and routine. The color green. Tea over coffee. Dog mom. Love language = words of affirmation + undivided quality time.
