Daughter to Cuban American parents, born in Gainesville, Florida and raised in La Ciudad Que Progresa, Hialeah, Florida, is me, Esther! Mucho Gusto!
Education: Esther graduated Summa Cum Laude (3.91 GPA) from Trinity International University, where she earned a second Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology in 2019. Additionally, Esther obtained a Master of Arts from Liberty University in Marriage and Family Counseling in 2017.
Continuing Education: Furthering her studies, Esther is in the process of taking relevant courses to become an ASSECT Certified Sex Therapist (CST) in the State of Florida with Modern Sex Therapist Institutes. Pending certification, Fall of 2021.
Clinical Experience: Ms. Toribio has worked with at-risk children and youth who have faced sexual abuse, trauma/neglect, eat disorders, self-esteem, and school bullying. With adults, eating disorders, childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, toxic relationships, life transitions, divorce and substance use recovery.
Multicultural Settings: Esther absolutely loves to learn about different cultures! In her 20s, she traveled to Haiti, Cuba, El Salvador, Dominican Republic, & South Asia on mission trips. The settings included disaster-relief, tent villages, gang violence, orphanages, and sex-trafficking brothels. Language barrier was no obstacle, a wholesome conversation, with a translator, and listening ears truly goes a long way. Here, Esther developed an awareness of diversity, SES, and effective communication skills.
Qualified Supervisor: Esther is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in the State of Florida working under the qualified supervision of Melinda De Seta, LMHC, CST, PhD Candidate.
